TestimonialsIt is so hard to put into words how grateful I am to have met you and the amazing life changes that I have experienced since starting with Brain and Body Power. Here is a song that I think will explain what I am singing/feeling in my mind, heart and soul when I think about how thankful I am to have you in my life. The song is called Kind and Generous, and it is by Natalie Merchant. Thank you, H.U.
After 2 years of not smiling, my husband is finally smiling and laughing again. Thank you! (The Wife) L.B.
Thanks ever so much on the help I have received. We are, no doubt, on the same page with your program. You were telling me things only I knew. You knew exactly what was going on physically, mentally, and in spirit, with me. I can say I can count on one hand the number of people I've met in my life, who possess such God given gifts. I know, you know, that is a clear blessing. That is your calling, for sure. I really appreciate your work. It is great!!!! I knew there were important reasons to contact you. That has been confirmed, big time. Thanks again for checking on me. You are a gem of a person. Bless you. Sincerely, C.M.
Just a quick note to let you know that I have seen a large improvement in my thinking and my thought process in getting large tasks accomplished. I have a research paper to do and it did seem very daunting to me. The next day after our session, I was ready to tackle it and get done with my negative thinking about it. I feel that at home I feel more efficient. It's great! Thank you so much for all you have done for me and my family V.B.
I used to like sleeping long and late. Now I enjoy waking up easily in the morning and having a full day to do what I like. Lisa F.
I can focus easily now. Instead of feeling agitated most of the time, I feel very relaxed. It is easier for me to work with others. My work is more productive. Mary L.
I feel calmer. I find myself laughing and smiling more. I seem to be standing taller and I feel more confident. I also think it is interesting that after years of my dog laying at my feet to sleep, now he lays his head on me to sleep. Kevin K.
There are some things I have put off and worried about doing for years! I finally faced what I needed to do and it was okay. I did it step by step and I was able to do it. That was a great relief! I finally feel like I am moving forward. Thank you. Marie F.
People used to notice that I mispronounced words. I would try to repeat the words and they wouldn’t come out right. People close to me used to get frustrated, so did I. Now I can pronounce them right. Reading used to hurt my eyes. It doesn’t bother me now. When someone wanted an answer really fast I used to feel like I got stuck. Now I can think easier and answer faster without feeling bad. N. L.
My daughter can sleep now and she no longer has frequent stomach aches anymore! Thank you. J.B.
Additional InformationProtect Your Brain HOW TO PROTECT YOUR BRAIN
Your brain is the CPU for your body! It is your Central Processing Unit. Your brain is about 3 pounds of very soft, fragile tissue. Your skull is hard, your brain is soft. Protect it!
1. Protect Your Brain from Injury.
*Wear a helmet when bicycling, skating, skateboarding, snowboarding and motorcycling.
*Wear your seat belt when riding in the car.
*Stay off roofs, especially after the age of 40.
*Do not repetitively use your head as an object for hitting things like soccer balls, etc.
2. Protect Your Brain – Get Enough Sleep!
*Lack of sleep affects memory, concentration and limits the access to learning ability.
3. Limit Stress.
*Focus your attention on something you enjoy.
*Choose your attitude.
*Listen to joyful music.
*Write down 5 things you are grateful for every day.
*Make sure you are not restricting your breathing patterns (by shallow breathing or unconsciously holding your breath).
5. Take in enough water.
*Some experts say that there is a link between dehydration and mental confusion. There is a lot of controversy about how much water is the right amount of water, but most experts agree that you should drink when thirsty.
6. Do not put toxic substances in your body.
*If you poison your body, you poison your brain.
*Limit Alcohol... Limit Tobacco... Do Not Abuse Drugs.
*Remember that what goes on your skin is easily absorbed into your body.
*Think about your product choices for personal use products, your clothing and shoe choices (some contain formaldehyde), your choice of food, your choice of furniture and household goods, etc.
*Think about limiting the toxins that are in your environment.
7. Use household cleaners only in a well-ventilated area.
*Do not allow these products on your skin because that is the largest organ in your body that breathes, the chemicals can go right in.
*If you think something may splash or if you are outside and the wind may blow, remember to protect your eyes.
*Or when possible, consider using household cleaners that are non-toxic such as vinegar.
8. Food - Questions to ask yourself about food safety.
*Could there be pesticides on this food?
*Could those pesticides harm me or my family?
*Did I thoroughly wash the food?
*Wash your food to remove pesticides or bacteria.
*Before cooking, wash food with clean water, (but not soap).
*Peeling may help, but it does not remove all pesticide residues as some is absorbed into the food.
*For meat, you may wish to trim the fat. Some pesticides collect in animal fat. Trimming the excess fat from the meat helps to reduce the amount of such pesticides that would be eaten.
*Cooking helps. Cooking helps reduce some of the pesticide residues in food that are not removable by washing or peeling.
What you eat plays a significant role in how your brain functions daily.
Eat brain-healthy foods. It is essential for brain function to eat protein, complex carbohydrates and foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids like salmon, walnuts, trout and olive oil. Simple sugars and simple carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, potatoes and rice cause people to feel lethargic and they experience “brain fog”.
Eat foods rich in anti-oxidants. These tend to be dark-skinned fruits and vegetables. Fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, red grapes and plums tend to be high in anti-oxidants.
Vegetables such as spinach, brussel sprouts, broccoli, red bell pepper and eggplant have higher than natural occurring levels of anti-oxidants.
10. Stay physically active.
Physical exercise is necessary for maintaining good blood flow to the brain. It also can significantly reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes.
11. Stay socially active.
Being socially active helps reduce stress.
12. Exercise your brain-learn something new.
Take up dancing, learn how to play a musical instrument, do a crossword puzzle, play Sudoku, learn a new language.
13. Take Supplements.
Why? Most people do not eat balanced meals on a regular basis.
14. Lead Safety
There are no visible symptoms of lead poisoning, and children may suffer behavior or learning problems as a result of exposure to lead hazards.
Houses built prior to 1978 often have lead paint. Do not attempt to remove lead paint yourself, consult with a professional. Wash children’s hands, toys, and bottles often. Regularly clean floors, window sills, and other surfaces to reduce possible exposure to lead and pesticide residues.
Be aware that new toys, new books and new fashion jewelry may also contain lead.
